Meet the Team: Will

Introducing Will Poching

Today we’re introducing Will Poching, one of our Senior Support Technicians based in Auckland.

Will brings more than a decade of hands on IT experience across a range of industries and environments. Originally from the UK, he recently made the move to New Zealand after spending over 10 years with one of the UK's largest supermarket chains. During that time, he worked across service desk, infrastructure and transformation roles, supporting everything from day to day technology issues through to large scale projects deployed across hundreds of sites.

What stood out to us when we met Will wasn't just his technical experience. It's the way he approaches technology. He's practical, down to earth and genuinely enjoys helping people. Whether he's solving a complex technical problem or helping someone navigate a frustrating IT issue, his focus is always on making things simple and delivering a great experience.

Clients can expect the same calm, knowledgeable support that has made him such a valuable addition to the team already.

Q. Why Both Brains?

Having worked at a company that used multiple managed service providers, I saw first hand how valuable it is when IT is delivered by people who genuinely care about the customer experience. The opportunity to bring my experience into a knowledgeable and supportive team really appealed to me. I could see there was a strong focus on helping customers, while also investing in learning and development for staff, which made Both Brains an easy choice.

Q. What do you do outside of work?

One of the main reasons I moved to Auckland was to be closer to family. Outside of work I spend a lot of time with them, and I'm also heavily involved in rugby league. I play for the Marist Saints in the Fox Memorial competition, which means most of my week is spent either training or playing. It's a big part of my life and something I really enjoy

Q. What were you doing before Both Brains?

Before joining Both Brains, I spent more than 10 years with ASDA in the UK. Over that time I worked in a variety of technology roles, including service desk, infrastructure engineering and large scale transformation projects. Most recently I was involved in delivering services across hundreds of stores and distribution centres throughout the UK, helping support both day-to-day operations and major technology improvements.

If you've spoken to Will recently, you've probably already noticed two things: he's incredibly helpful and he's not easily rattled. Whether it's a quick support question or a more complex technical issue, Will brings a calm, practical approach that makes life easier for both our clients and our team.
